Writer, director, and actress Nekrasova (who also stars in the film) made her acting debut in “Wobble Palace,” directed by Eugene Kotlyarenko in 2018, which she also co-wrote. This year, she also has a recurring role on Season 3 of HBO’s “Succession.” “Scary” features an original score by composer Eli Keszler, who previously contributed to Daniel Lopatin’s score for the Safdie Brothers’ “Uncut Gems.” “The Scary of Sixty-First” premieres theatrically December 17 in New York at the Quad Cinema — in 35mm! — in New York via distributor Utopia. The film will then be available on digital platforms on December 24, as the film continues to roll out at arthouses in 35mm. “Scary” is also playing New York’s NewFest virtually and in-person this October.
